Our goal is to help make the transition and the school experience as smooth as possible.  Please contact me so that we can discuss the various ways we can support your child.

Military Child Education Coalition - Ensuring quality educational opportunities for all military children affected by mobility, family separation, and transition -

Military OneSource  - Private help 24/7 Military OneSource offers three kinds of free short-term, non-medical counseling options to active-duty, Guard, and Reserve members and their families.  Military OneSource counseling services are designed to provide service help with short-term issues such as adjustment to situational stressors, stress management, decision making, communication, grief, blended-family issues, and parenting-skills issues.

SOAR - SOAR (Student Online Achievement Resources) is a program for military families and the school districts that serve them.  It aims to address the unique challenges facing military children in public schools.

Talk Listen Connect  by Sesame Workshop (The organization behind Sesame Street).  Deployments, Homecomings, Changes, Grief.

Local information:  Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) - Once you’re on the MWR page you will see the blue link for the The Shipyard Currents, a publication of MWR and your source for information MWR, CYP, Fleet and Family Support Services, and Housing.  There are some great programs being offered.

Student 2 Student - If you have a high school-aged student, please contact one of the Traip school counselors for more information about this program. 

United Through Reading  Deployed parents read children’s books aloud via DVD for their children to watch at home.   Contact me for more information.
